The jobless rates in all northwest Ohio counties dropped last month from the month before, following a statewide trend. The state Department of Job and Family Services said yesterday that Hancock County, at 4.5 percent, had the lowest rate in the area, and Huron County, at 6.8 percent, had the highest rate. The state rate dropped to 5.7 percent in August from 5.8 percent in July.
