Toledo 84th in U.S.
in GDP, growth

$28.3B of goods and services produced in Toledo, 2012


The value of all goods and services produced in the Toledo area last year was $28.3 billion, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

That puts Toledo 84th among the nation’s 381 metropolitan areas, according to the bureau’s study of Gross Domestic Product, which was released Tuesday.

Coincidentally, Toledo’s rate of growth also ranked 84th. Toledo’s GDP grew 3.2 percent last year after rising 3.2 percent in 2010 and 4.6 percent in 2011.

The Monroe metro area had a GDP of $4.1 billion, which ranked 328th in the nation. But its 5.3 percent growth ranked 22nd.
