Amanda Jackson of Sylvania, a senior at Sylvania Southview High School, has been awarded an $8,000 Presidential Scholarship from Ashland University in Ohio.

Amanda, who has a 3.9 grade point average, has committed to play soccer at Ashland.

Her scholarship is renewable and based on academic and national test scores.


Isaac Gould of Ottawa Lake and Rachel Maenle of Temperance have received $500 Florence Ames Fine Art Scholarships at Monroe County Community College.

The art scholarships are awarded to full-time sophomores with artistic merit and a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
