Monroe high school registration set
MONROE -- Sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the Monroe Public Schools will have registration Aug. 21-22 in the high school commons and gymnasium.
Students must submit a completed registration form, applications for free and reduced-price lunches, and a physical form for athletics; they also must return outstanding books and materials and pay fines owed.
At registration, students will have their pictures taken and receive their school identification cards, student handbooks, and locker assignments.
Juniors and seniors will be able to pay for their parking permits if they have proof of insurance along with a driver's license and car registration.
Seniors should dress up because pictures taken that day will appear in the portrait section of the school yearbook, Highlighter.
Registration time slots are organized alphabetically according to last name and by class.
Aug. 21 -- Incoming seniors A to D 8 a.m., E to K 9 a.m., L to Re 10 a.m., and Ri to Z, 11 a.m. Juniors A to D 1 p.m., and E to K 2 p.m.
Aug. 22 -- Juniors L to Re 8 a.m. and Ri to Z, 9 a.m. Sophomores A to D 10 a.m., E to K 11 a.m., L to Re 1 p.m., and Ri to Z, 2 p.m.

The new Trojan Retreat is for all new freshmen and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Aug. 23 in the high school.
It is not mandatory, but school officials recommend it as a good way for freshmen to meet classmates and complete their registration process.
