The Toledo Community Foundation has approved grants totaling $9,000 from the Bill Rowles Youth Foundation Fund to support five nonprofit organizations whose programs enhance the lives of people under age 18.

The foundation will give $2,000 each to the Eastwood Local School District, for science, engineering, technology, and math curriculum development; Lake Elementary School, for healthy lifestyle and leadership skills promotion; Leadership Toledo, for the Youth Leadership Toledo program in Wood County, which provides service learning opportunities, and Wood County 4-H, for the Good Sportsmanship Program, which teaches etiquette, sportsmanship, and civility to children and their parents.

A $1,000 grant was awarded to the Children’s Resource Center to support intervention and prevention services for children and youth.
