A community informational meeting about a recently fired Toledo Public Schools administrator's case will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Church of God, 3016 Collingwood Blvd.
Sandra Meeks-Speller will be at the meeting, which is co-sponsored by the church and the Toledo chapter of the NAACP.
Ms. Meeks-Speller, who was an assistant principal at Spring Elementary, was fired June 25 by the Toledo Board of Education, after TPS administrators accused her of using inappropriate physical discipline with students, making threats, and using racially tinged language.
Ms. Meeks-Speller denies the charges and has appealed her firing to the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, claiming malicious breach of contract, defamation, and emotional stress and mental pain by the school board.
Those who attend the meeting can ask Ms. Meeks-Speller questions about the matter.
