FINDLAY — Findlay-based Marathon Petroleum Corp. is planning an expansion of its Patoka Tank Farm in southern Illinois, according to the Courier Press of Evansville, Ind.
The expansion could cost as much as $158 million, the newspaper said. Company officials presented details to Marion County officials this week.
The project would include up to nine new tanks, which would increase the crude oil storage capacity. A company official told the paper Marathon is also considering a pipeline connection project that would cost $62 million.
Construction of the first four tanks is expected to begin this summer.
