Hillabrand paces Genoa

BLOOMDALE Greg Hillabrand scored two touchdowns in the second half last night to lift undefeated Genoa to a 14-0 victory over Elmwood in a Suburban Lakes League battle.

The teams battled to a scoreless first half, but Hillabrand, who rushed for 121 yards on 18 carries, tallied on an 18-yard run in the third quarter. He scored again in the fourth quarter on a one-yard run.

The Comets (4-0, 1-0 SLL) recorded their third shutout of the season.

Elmwood quarterback Reid Rothenbuhler completed 14-of- 36 passes for 140 yards and also rushed for 40 yards. The Royals are 2-2, 0-1. Genoa held a 242-180 edge in total yardage.

KANSAS John Timmons completed 13 of his 27 passes for 184 yards and four touchdowns for Lakota (2-2, 1-0 SLL).

Timmons connected with Jacob Smith from 6 and 31 yards in the first quarter, and later hit Kevin Lowery and Chris Kleman for scores.

The Raiders, who topped the Flyers (2-2, 0-1) 384-202 in offense, also got a 20-yard TD run from Jeremy Robbins. Lake quarterback Mike Mathews threw TD passes of 52 yards to Greg Grove, and 33 and 45 yards to Terry Tomanski.

TONTOGANY Max Musser rushed 20 times for 333 yards and four touchdowns as Woodmore won its first Suburban Lakes League game of the season in convincing fashion.

Musser had scoring runs of 47, 61, 56 and 4 yards.

The Wildcats Michael Fahle added three TDs on runs of 15, 15 and 1 yard.

Otsego s Tony Gerwin scored early on a seven-yard run and Jonah Harter kicked a 27-yard field goal to give the Knights a short-lived lead.

Vince Falk intercepted a pass and returned it 43 yards for an Otsego (1-3) score.

PEMBERVILLE The Eagles (3-1, 1-0 SLL) pounded out 438 rushing yards, part of a 504-234 offensive edge over Gibsonburg (1-3, 0-1).

Cody Seifert rushed 18 times for 132 yards and scored on runs of 21, 3 and 2 yards, and Matt Schlumbohm added 107 yards on nine attempts, including TD runs of 15 and 66 yards for Eastwood.

Quarterback Jason Faykosh (66 passing yards) and fullback Ashton Brown added TDs for the Eagles on second-half runs of 6 and 4 yards, respectively.

The Golden Bears got a 10-yard TD run from Avery Potridge and Cody Hill scored on a 13-yard pass from Tony Egbert.
