Hausfeld paces Southview victory

Tim Hausfeld hit three of his four 3-pointers in the second quarter when Southview outscored Central Catholic 21-8 and finished with 20 points as the visiting Cougars defeated the Irish 63-56 last night in boys basketball.

Bernard Pinckney added 16 points for Southview (11-1).

Central, which led 15-11 after one quarter, got 12 points apiece from Bruce Huntley and Nate Hobbs and 11 from Doug Williams.

The Irish fell to 5-3.

ROGERS 66, MAUMEE 35

Damon Powell scored 20 points and Dalante Heard had 15 points and 10 rebounds to pace Rogers (9-1).

Anthony Barnum led visiting Maumee with 12 and Jay Hall added 10.

EASTWOOD 91,

ROSSFORD 70

PEMBERVILLE - The Eagles hit 34 of 64 shots from the field, including 6-of-13 from beyond the arc, to easily beat the Bulldogs.

Clay Rolf led Eastwood (8-1) with 30 points without any 3-pointers and just two free throws. Jason Faykosh added 18 points and Nick Schmeltz had 11.

Zach Leahy scored 26 and Tommy Kralovic 24 for Rossford (5-6).

OTTAWA HILLS 57,

WOODMORE 35

ELMORE - The Green Bears jumped out to a 13-2 lead after one quarter and cruised to the road victory.

Phillip Beans finished with a game-high 16 points while Eliot Browarsky and Kevin Nugent added 13 and 10, respectively, for Ottawa Hills (6-2).

Robert Schumacher scored seven points to lead the Wildcats (4-6).

NORTHWOOD 57, GENOA 54

After trailing 30-17 at the half, Northwood outscored the visiting Comets 24-10 in the third quarter on the way to the victory.

Ryan Canaday led Northwood with 18 points, Charles Artino had 15 and Chris Keith 13.

Josh Palmer paced Genoa with 17 and Jon Lester added 15.

ELMWOOD 54,

VAN BUREN 37

BLOOMDALE - Tyler Chamberlain led the way with 13 points and Adam Tyson and Thor Bottesch added 12 and 11, respectively, as the Royals (5-3) broke things open with a 15-6 third quarter against Van Buren (6-5).

The Black Knights got 10 points each from Josh Gilliland and Michael Ryder.

NAPOLEON 53, ARCHBOLD 51

ARCHBOLD - Two David Rupp free throws tied the game for the Blue Streaks (5-7) with 12 seconds remaining, but Fyle Niermann Napoleon's scored the game-winning basket from inside off a feed from Jordan Kruse with 3.3 seconds to play.

Napoleon (8-2) was paced by 18 points from Joel Hunter and Kruse added 12.

Archbold got 12 points from Telly Fricke.

AYERSVILLE 63,

MONTPELIER 41

MONTPELIER - Ten players scored for the visiting Pilots (7-2), who bolted to a 22-4 lead after one quarter.

Jeremy Seifert led Ayersville with 14 points and Anthony King added 12.

The Locomotives (1-8) were paced by Ryan Heller's 12 points and Brit Moore chipped in 11.

BEDFORD 55, CHELSEA 51

CHELSEA, Mich. - The Mules sprinted out to an 18-7 first-quarter lead and shot 19-of-34 from the foul line to 11-of-19 for Chelsea.

Ricky Rightnowar paced Bedford (4-2) with 16 points, Matt Lazette added 15 and Tyler Shock 12.

Michael Roberts led Chelsea with 17 points while John Mandel contributed 12.

PITTSFORD, Mich. - Joshua Guziolek's 19 points weren't enough for the Crusaders (4-6) as Freedom Academy's Caleb Pedlin fired in 27.

Erin Mesker scored 13 points as Perrysburg moved to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the Northern Lakes League.

Olivia Fouty led Northview (8-5, 4-3) with 15 points.

The Jackets hit 14 of 17 free throws and the Wildcats hit 11 of 14.

BOWLING GREEN 39

The Cougars (9-3, 6-1 NLL) used balanced scoring to take the home-court win.

Jenna Vermilya led the way with 14 points, Tiffany Scott and Ariel Gaston each added 12 and Taylor Hall provided 10.

Bethany Hoehner paced the Bobcats with nine points.

SPRINGFIELD 62, MAUMEE 41

The Blue Devils opened up a 10-point lead after one quarter and were never seriously threatened as Ericka Thompson led the way with 19 points.

Sarah Dean added 11 points for Springfield (6-6, 4-3 NLL). Leslie Thomson topped the Panthers (1-6, 2-10) with 11 points.

The Generals epitomized balance as Jordan Floyd scored 14 points, Erika Schmidt and Emma Ricketts added 11 each and Ashley Bromley had 10.

AW moved to 6-5 overall and 4-2 in the NLL. Anne Yenrick led Rossford with 13.

EVERGREEN 64, DELTA 47

DELTA - Taylor Langenderfer scored 21 points and sister Lauren Langenderfer added 17 to pace the Vikings.

Kathleen Przeslawski led the Panthers with 15 points and Autumn Shindorf added 10.

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 51,

LIBERTY CENTER 23

OTTAWA - Dana Kaufman led Ottawa-Glandorf with 21 points, including four 3-pointers.

PETTISVILLE 43, SWANTON 29

SWANTON - Pettisville ran its record to 9-1 as Haley Nofziger and Erica King each scored 13 points. Alexa Short added 11.

Paige Onweller topped the Bulldogs (4-7) with 11 points.

BEDFORD 50, CHELSEA 32

TEMPERANCE, Mich. - Kaylee Foster poured in 25 points for Bedford.
