Notre Dame gets 1st loss; Whitmer, Southview win

Northview beats St. Ursula; Central prevails in OT


Kettering Fairmont 63, Notre Dame 26

BERLIN, Ohio — Notre Dame suffered its first loss of the season Saturday in the opening game of the Classic in the Country, an event that draws top girls basketball teams.

Danie Shafer paced Fairmont (15-1) with 19 points, Kathryn Westbeld had 18 and Makayla Waterman scored 14.

Tierra Floyd led Notre Dame (9-1) with 12 points.


Whitmer 50, Bowling Green 36

BOWLING GREEN —Keshyra McCarver scored 17 points and Samantha Meinen 12 for the Panthers (9-3).

Hanna Williford topped the Bobcats (8-8) with 14 points.


Central Catholic 50, Perrysburg 49

Michelle Murnen sank a pair of free throws in overtime to lift the Irish to a slim win over the Yellow Jackets.

Alyssa Galernik led Central Catholic (8-3) with 19 points while Murnen finished with nine.

Sarah Baer had 21 points for Perrysburg (12-2). Lindy Delong added 11.


Southview 64, Findlay 35

FINDLAY — The Cougars placed four players in double figures.

Emily Westphal led Southview (11-6) with 14 points, while Taryn Stanley added 13, Sarah Klepzig 12, and Lauren Huntsman 10.

Jacey Hardesty led the Trojans (1-12) with 12 points.


Northview 52, St. Ursula 31

Kendall McCoy scored 14 points and Maddie Cole added 13 as Northview (12-4) won at home.

Megan Burns paced St. Ursula (3-8) with eight points.


Evergreen 65, Woodward 42

METAMORA — Haili Mossing's 22 points led four Vikings in double figures.

Carly Truckor added 11 for Evergreen (11-3) and Rachael and Kendalyn Noe had 10 each.

K'Shawna Barnett paced Woodward (3-8) with 18 points.


Bedford 55, Dundee 14

TEMPERANCE — Roma Lucarelli and Rachel Lewandowski scored 10 points each for the Mules (8-2).

The Vikings fall to 4-6.


North Eaton Christian 41, Monclova Christian 33

North Eaton was paced by Rebecoh Willis with 17 points.

Rachel Bersinger had 16 for the Thunder.


Van Wert 50, Bryan 32

BRYAN — Erin Morrow scored 11 points in a Van Wert victory.

Bryan’s Hannah Schimmoeller notched 21 points.


Oak Harbor 53, Huron 24

HURON — Oak Harbor won behind 24 points from Andrea Cecil.

The Rockets moved to 12-2, 8-1 in the Sandusky Bay Conference.


Lima Senior 82, Clay 59

LIMA — Rion Thompson poured in 31 points to lead the Spartans (11-3, 4-3). Indiya Benjamin chipped in 15 and Imara Haynes 14.

Haley and Hannah Hess each had 13 and Morgan Connor 11 for the Eagles (9-6, 4-3).


Ottawa-Glandorf 69, Fostoria 38

FOSTORIA—The Titans (13-2) rolled as Danielle Schroeder scored 12 points and Kristen Miller added 10.

Erica Moore paced the Redmen with 12.
