Go to PizzaPapalis at 519 Monroe St. from 5-9 p.m. on July 27 and help support the fifth anniversary of the Susan’s Smiles of Happiness fund-raiser. Ten percent of the revenue from all dine-in and carry-out meals will be donated to the fund-raiser (excluding alcohol purchases), and all funds raised will be used to pay for the dental needs of individuals with developmental disabilities who are served by the Sunshine Creating Community. There also will be a raffle, and it is not necessary to be present to win.

For more information, contact Diane Hamilton at 419-824-5462.

Grapes & Grain

Explore wine and beer pairings at the Grapes & Grain Dinner at Stella’s Restaurant, 104 Louisiana Ave., Perrysburg, on July 27. Wines will be presented by Adam Mahler of ampelography, who says that this “really cool event” is “an attempt to bridge the gap between the two seemingly disparate beverages of choice.” Bobby Desyn, of Cavalier Distributing, will be presenting the beer selections.

A reception will be at 5 p.m., with the dinner beginning at 6 p.m. The cost is $60 per person.

To make reservations, call 419-873-8360.

Savour Sylvania

“Savour Sylvania” from Aug. 17-23 and enjoy special promotions and prizes from Avenue Bistro, Charlie’s Restaurant, Ciao Ristorante, Element 112, Eston’s Bakery, Mancy’s Italian Grill, Max & Erma’s, Memphis Pearl, Revolution Grill, Tony Packo’s, and Treo.

The event will kick off at the Historical Train Barn in downtown Sylvania on Aug. 17, and funds raised from ticket sales will go toward scholarships for culinary students. Highlights will include dining stations offered by local restaurants, samples of wine provided by Heidelberg Wines, and local music hosted by Fred LeFebvre.

Tickets are $35 per person or $65 per couple; call 419-882-2135 or email admin@sylvaniachamber.org.
