Robinson sets new Big Ten record as Michigan rolls over Boilermakers 44-13

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson set the Big Ten rushing record for quarterbacks this afternoon to help the Wolverines to a 44-13 win at Purdue in their Big Ten Conference opener.

Robinson bested the previous record of 3,895 yards, set in 2001 by Indiana quarterback Antwaan Randle El. Robinson finished with 235 yards on 24 carries, and now has 3,905 career rushing yards.

Michigan (3-2, 1-0 Big Ten) took a 28-10 lead over Purdue (3-2, 0-1) behind Fitzgerald Toussaint's two first-half touchdowns.

Michigan hosts Illinois at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in a Big Ten game at Michigan Stadium.
