ANN ARBOR -- The University of Michigan formally introduced Doug Nussmeier as its offensive coordinator today at the Junge Family Champions Center.

Nussmeier outlined his vision for Michigan's offense, which struggled in the second half of the 2013 season, particularly its running game: tough, physical and explosive.

"We want to be able to run the football and we want to be able to put points on the board," said Nussmeier, who served as Alabama's offensive coordinator for the past two years. "We want to force the defense to defend all different elements of the game."

Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said that a contract is still being formulated for Nussmeier yet debunked reports that Nussmeier would be among the top-five paid offensive coordinators in the country.

Brandon also gave his thoughts on Michigan's 2013 season.

"My level of concern, in my own words, is 7-6," Brandon said. "That's not Michigan football."
