Player named best-fielding first baseman in minor-league baseball

Mud Hens first baseman Jordan Lennerton was named the best-fielding first baseman in minor-league baseball, making him one of nine players to receive a Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove in 2013.

Lennerton played 129 games at first base for Toledo and committed just five errors for a .996 fielding percentage, the top mark in the International League. A Baseball America survey of IL managers also had Lennerton has the league's top defensive first baseman.

On offense the 27-year-old native of Langley, British Columbia hit .278 with 17 home runs and 57 RBIs. Lennerton was a mid-season IL all-star and also played in the 2013 Futures Game.

Lennerton was one of three Detroit minor leaguers honored for their defense as Double-A Erie third baseman Wade Gaynor and Hi-A Lakeland outfielder Jason Krizan also received Gold Gloves.
