Turf preparations starting earlier this year due to weather

It appears as if a dome has been constructed at Fifth Third Field, but it’s just the Mud Hens’ way of fighting the harsh winter to get the field ready by using heaters under a tarp to thaw the ground. The season opens at home April 4 against Louisville.
