Way Public Library in Perrysburg continues its monthly Art & Foreign Film series with the showing of the French-made film Of Gods and Men at 7 p.m. Friday in the lower-level auditorium of the library.
The film's story centers on a monastery where nine Trappist monks live in harmony with the largely Muslim population of Algeria until seven of them are kidnapped and assassinated in 1996 during the Algerian Civil War. The film premiered at the 2010 Cannnes Film Festival where it won the Grand Prix, the festival's second-most prestigious award.
