The cornerstone of the 1917 Perrysburg Township town hall has cleaned up and mounted for the current township building.

The earlier structure was built on Lime City Road for $3,326 by P.D. Trepainer. The current township hall was built in 1962 across the street from the old one, which remained intact until it was torn down in 2011.

The original building had a cornerstone piece naming the three township trustees, the year, and township fiscal officer S.T. Phillips. The stone was saved when the old town hall was torn down. Township trustees agreed last fall to pay $500 for it to be cleaned and mounted.

It was delivered this week and Township Administrator Walt Celley said it will go in the new office, but he wasn't sure where yet. For now, the stone is in the lobby of township hall at 26609 Lime City Road.
