In place of its annual magazine drive fundraiser this year, Frank Elementary School had its students actively involved in helping raise funds for the many good things that happen at the school by having a new school-wide event—a walk-a-thon.
All Frank students, some joined by family and friends, walked for one hour on Oct. 11.
“We had a terrific response in the form of sponsorships, pledges, participation and smiles,” stated Principal Brent Swartzmiller.
“The event far exceeded our expectations as students clearly had a fun day supporting our school. Thank you to all that supported our event. We will utilize raised funds to enhance our classroom libraries to provide a rich assortment of books for our students as well as to bring programs/speakers/activities into our school. Additionally, we will continue to promote the concept of healthy living.”
The event was sponsored by 23 businesses and groups.
