Perrysburg Superintendent Tom Hosler said that the Perrysburg Education Association and school district have reached a tentative agreement.
He would not disclose length, pay details, or anything about the agreement. The agreement now needs to be presented to the members of the teacher's union, which could then vote to approve it.
The district and union were scheduled to go to a fact-finding stage of negotiation talks in December after a mediator meeting last month could not reach an agreement. Both sides met and worked out an agreement.
The teachers union will meet soon to vote on the agreement, and, if approved, the Perrysburg Board of Education will vote on it. The school board went into executive session during Monday's meeting to talk about contract negotiations.
Mr. Hosler said he anticipates the union members will vote on the agreement the week first week of December. If it is approved, he said, the school board might have a special board meeting Dec. 9 to vote on it.
The teachers union represents 300 educators. The last contract with the s union last two years and included a pay freeze.
Bus drivers, secretaries, monitors, and custodians in the Ohio Association of Public School Employees, Local 242 union, reached a new contract in September. The new three year contract for the 180 members ended a pay freeze in the last two-year agreement, giving workers a 1.25 percent pay increase this year and another 1 percent increase the following two years.
In the past, the Ohio Association of Public School Employees agreement has been similar to the teachers union's.
Exempt employees of the school district, who don't have a union but have a bargaining unit, also have reached a three-year agreement. The unit includes information technology employees, assistants, and other non-administrative and non-teacher employees.
