Area residents paused for a moment Friday to enjoy a free noon concert on the green grounds of the Manor House lawn at Wildwood Metropark.
Children frolicked and played tag, some took a nap, and others took part in a little picnic while local musician Tim Oehlers strummed his guitar, playing modern, folk, and original tunes.
“He’s good and very calming. One of the boys took a nap,” said Toledo resident Sue Gonzales.
In her first visit to park in Sylvania Township, she was excited to explore the historic Manor House after the Noon Tunes concert.
She brought her four grandsons, Tristan and Landon Geske and brothers Keegan and Keller Mentrek, also of Toledo. The three eldest boys played and ate on a blanket enjoying the summer day on the shaded lawn.
The free summer concert series will continue every other Friday through August, with Candace Coleman and Chris Brown performing July 25 and Wilson Lake and the Rock Bass performing Aug. 8. The Aug. 22 performance is to be determined.
