This is the seventh consecutive year that Sylvania Schools has been rated Excellent or Excellent with Distinction. The district’s high-achieving track record is the result of several converging factors.
Sylvania families, whether they send their children to Sylvania Schools or private schools, know that the key to an abundant life is a vibrant educational experience, one that fosters young people’s academic and personal growth.
Parents are doing a great job setting expectations with their children about the importance of education, which lays the foundation for academic success.
Our students are goal-oriented, inquisitive, and have a desire to learn skills and concepts that prepare them for the information-based, hyper-connected world.
My daily classroom visits around the district serve as a source of renewal for me. I am continually impressed by students’ achievements, critical thinking, insights, teamwork and sense of humor. Students of all ability levels are giving their personal best in the classroom and extracurricular venues.
Sylvania teachers, principals, support staff, and school board members are dedicated, talented, and caring professionals. Educators design engaging learning activities that encourage and challenge students to cultivate their interests and talents. I am moved by the multitude of ways my colleagues make personal, life-giving connections with young people. Their thoughtfulness and acts of kindness create lifelong memories for students.
Given that schools mirror the community, the Excellent with Distinction rating is truly a wonderful reflection on Sylvania residents.
Thank you to our community for valuing education and supporting our school system. We will continue to implement innovations and improvements that enhance the educational experience for our students.
