Blake Wasung of Sylvania, a senior at Central Catholic High School, earned his Boy Scout Eagle Scout designation on July 31. He is a member of Troop #87 at St. Joseph Parish in Sylvania.
For his Eagle Scout project, Blake collected 12 used computers and reprogrammed them, and he gave the computers to needy families and taught the families how to use them.
At Central Catholic, Blake is pursuing an International Baccalaureate diploma and is a member of the National Honor Society, the honor roll, and the Chinese Club. He also participated in cross country and track. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wasung.
Central Catholic senior Wilhelm Degener of East Toledo also recently earned his Boy Scout Eagle Scout designation. He is a member of Troop 1666. His Eagle Scout project was the refurbishment of a costume and prop storage room in the Central Catholic Performing Arts Center.
