Sylvania First United Methodist Church hosted "A Different Kind of Christmas" Giving Fair last weekend to raise funds for area charities.
Members and friends of the church donated to a dozen charities at the fair, including Heifer Project International, St. Paul's Community Center, and Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti.
Booths were set up to showcase the services of each charity and donors could designate how their gifts would be used.
Also represented at the fair was Sylvania First's youth ham sale and the upcoming mission trip. The Adopt-a-Family program also was part of the fair, where people could select a family for which to to buy presents or Christmas dinner.
