Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 11-20

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Nov. 13

Theft. Drug abuse. Kroger, 6235 Monroe St., reported that someone attempted to steal two opened packets of Suboxone, hypodermic syringe, a stainless steel spoon and flash memory cartridges, from the store.

Theft. Scott Wilson, 4600 block of Charlesgate Road, reported a white frame, 24 inch bicycle with the words “SWAT” on it, stolen.

Theft. Linda Boxell, 6600 block of Carritown Lane, reported the following items stolen: $40 of US currency, an animal print wallet, a Chase credit card and an American Express card.

Nov. 14

Theft. Swissaire Village Apartments, 4600 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, reported that a suspect stole an air conditioning unit from the apartment complex.

Nov. 15

Theft. Sameh Wessef, 3600 block of W. Alexis Road, reported that someone tried to steal an air conditioning unit from one of the apartments on the block.

Nov. 17

Burglary. Manubhal Patel, 4300 block of Todd Drive, said that a suspect attempted to force entry into the structure.

Nov. 18

Criminal damaging. Theft. 5200 block of Harroun Road, it was reported that a suspect forced entry into a vehicle and took the following items: a black and gray bag, work gloves, Motorola earphones and a face mask.

Nov. 19

Theft. 5800 Monroe Street, Advance Auto Transport reported that truck batteries were reported stolen from the business.

Theft. 5600 block of Elliott Drive, Aaron Hassell reported that roofing shingles were stolen from the location without his consent.

Sylvania Township Police

Nov. 14

Burglary. 5900 block of Rega Drive, Jaisie Gerity reported that someone broke into her house and stole $2,400 in cash.

Nov. 18

Theft. 7700 block of Central Avenue, Tractor Supply had a customer report her wallet was stolen from her cart in the store.

Nov. 19

Burglary. 9600 block of Wolfinger Road, Eric Dilley reported that someone kicked in his front door and stole his wife's jewelry box, which was in an upstairs bedroom on a dresser.

Theft from vehicle. 5100 block of Monroe Street, Steven Smith reported the following items were stolen from his vehicle: an HP Pavillion laptop, an English book and a laptop bag.

Burglary. 6200 block of Greenacre Road, Emily Johnson reported that her house was burglarized, with the suspect using an open garage door to enter the residence.

Nov. 14

4200 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, assist invalid.

5700 block of Central Avenue, alarm system sounded.

Nov. 16

2900 block of Tracewood Drive, assist invalid.

5100 block of Central Avenue, flammable substance found.

2900 block of McCord Road, smoke scare.

7700 block of Erie Street, alarm system activation.

Nov. 17

5500 block of Monroe Street, alarm system sounded.

5600 block of Sylvania Avenue, dispatched and canceled en route.

Nov. 18

7200 block of Ridgeland Road, attempted burning, illegal.

Nov. 19

4900 block of New England Lane, smoke detector activation.

5200 block of South Main Street, assist invalid.

6700 block of Denbridge Drive, building fire.
