Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 12/12

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Dec. 5

Theft. Thomas Halter, 5700 block of Centerview Drive, reported theft of iPod Touch, as well as a green case, from his backpack while he was working at Sautter's Market. 

Theft. James Alec Douglas, 6700 block of Roosevelt Drive, reported theft of 80 pounds of British currency, gold dollar coins, silver dimes, and a car title to a 1995 Mazda.

Dec. 6

Robbery. Virginia Ott, 5300 block of Harroun Road, reported theft of a yellow gold diamond wedding ring and told police she was physically harmed during the robbery.

Dec. 7

Theft. Kroger Timberstone, 7545 Sylvania Ave., reported a suspect tried to steal three bottles of wine.

Dec. 8

Theft. Kroger., 6235 Monroe St., reported a suspect attempted to remove two cases containing 24 12-ounce cans of Bud Light beer.

Dec. 7

Burglary. Bethany McCormick, 2400 block of Notting Hill Drive, reported theft of several jewelry items, including a necklace, a watch, and rings, from her residence.

Dec. 8

Theft. Robert Oswalt, 2400 block of King Road, reported that his father's truck was stolen.

Dec. 10

Theft. Rebecca Criss, 2700 block of Stoneleigh Drive, reported that someone attempted to use her debit card to make purchases totaling $1,659.95.

Dec. 5

5000 block of Main Street, assist invalid.

Dec. 6

3000 block of Elmwood Drive, assist invalid.

7200 block of Cloister Road, gasoline or other flammable substance reported.

5800 block of Central Park Avenue, assist invalid.

5900 block of Woodside Trail, no incident found.

4700 block of Charlesgate Road, carbon monoxide incident.

Dec. 7

7800 block of Central Avenue, bomb scare.

5300 block of Main Street, unauthorized burning.

Dec. 8

5700 block of Cushman Road, unauthorized burning.

6600 block of Central Avenue, passenger vehicle fire.

7000 block of Sylvania Avenue, sprinkler activation.

Dec. 9

6100 block of Rockdale Lane, electrical wiring/equipment issue.

6600 block of Maplewood Avenue, smoke or odor removal.

5000 block of Main Street, heat from short circuit.

4800 block of Central Avenue, detector activation.

U.S. 23 SB, dispatched and canceled en route.
