Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 12/27

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Dec. 21

Theft/criminal deception. Vin Devers, Inc, 5570 Monroe St., found that a check worth $10,400 was given to a fraudulent business client.

Breaking and entering. American Carpet Services, 5160 Railroad St., reported that someone entered the business through a glass door and window and stole the following items: a set of keys, a cordless drill and a small tool set in a red plastic case.

Dec. 22

Aggravated battery. Kyle Ehrecke, 4900 block of South Main St., said someone stole three credit cards and $22 in cash from his residence.

Theft. Kroger Company, 6235 Monroe St., reported that a person attempted to steal the following items: one container of Miralax, one container of Aquaphor healing ointment and one toothbrush.

Dec. 26

Criminal damaging. Lourdes Commons Apartments, 6557 Brint Rd., reported that one of the buildings was painted with graffiti.

Sylvania Township Police Department

Dec. 19

Burglary. Katie Griggs, 3200 block of Millicent Drive, reported the following items stolen from her residence: a Sony laptop, two flat screen TVs and $150 worth of gift cards.

Burglary. Paul Herman, 3500 block of Wilford Drive, stated that someone broke into his home and stole a .38 revolver, a .22 semi-automatic pistol and a jar of coins.

Dec. 22

Breaking and entering. Kyoto Ka Restaurant, 6801 W. Central Ave., reported the owner received a call from Habitec Security Company, informing him that an alarm from the rear door of the business was activated. The back door to the business was open when he arrived and the owner advised township police that nothing had been stolen.

Dec. 23

Attempted breaking and entering. Tiger Lebanese Bakery, 6710 W. Central Ave., had an alarm go off, an officer responded and found the back door was ajar, but nothing was reported stolen.

Dec. 24

Theft. Kristen Prahl, 5900 block of W. Central Ave., reported that someone used her debit card information to make purchases without her knowledge. The purchases totaled $155.13.

Dec. 19

9100 block of Beautiful Lane, dispatched and canceled en route.

Graystone Drive, unauthorized burning.

Dec. 20

7300 block of Whitewood Lane, alarm system sounded.

5900 block of Roan Road, power line down.

U.S. 23 NB & Central Ave., dispatched and canceled en route.

Dec. 23

4800 block of Parkgate Place, cooking fire.

Dec. 24

5600 block of Monroe St., assist invalid.

6400 block of Sylvania Ave., alarm system activation.

4800 block of Sandlewood Ct., cooking fire.

7600 block of Bancroft St., dispatched and canceled en route.

5600 block of Balfour Road, outside rubbish disturbance.
