Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 10/8

Here are the crime reports from Oct. 1 through Oct. 8 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Oct. 3

Theft. Tan Pro, Inc., 7615 Sylvania Ave., reported stolen a container of tanning lotion worth $22.

Oct. 5

Theft. Chris Liebe, 4100 block of New Castle Drive, reported stolen $1,240, a Nintendo game system and accessories worth $520, and several credit and identification cards.

Oct. 6

Criminal damaging and endangering. Rafael Valdez, 4800 block of Tamworth Road, reported someone shattered the rear and two side windows of his vehicle while it was parked on the street.

Criminal damaging and endangering. Mark Klem, 7100 block of Bog Hollow Road, reported someone shattered the rear and two side windows of his vehicle while it was parked on the street.

Criminal damaging and endangering. Emily Minard, 4900 block of Tamworth Road, reported someone shattered the rear and two side windows of her vehicle while it was parked on the street.

Criminal damaging and endangering. Alina Rahal Rais, 4300 block of Weldwood Lane, reported someone shattered the rear and two side windows of her vehicle while it was parked on the street.

Sylvania Township Police

Oct. 1

Theft. Bonnie Monroe, 4500 block of Commonwealth Avenue, reported someone stole her iPhone, valued at $200. She was at Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave., when the incident occurred.

Oct. 3

Theft. Robert Collins, 5900 block of Pembridge Drive East, reported someone stole his checkbook and wallet from his unlocked car while it was parked in his driveway.

Oct. 4

Breaking and entering. Craig Adair, 3300 block of Richfield Center Road, Swanton, reported someone stole copper pipes from a residence located on the 8700 block of West Central Ave.

Oct. 5

Theft. Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave., reported three people took multiple articles of clothing without paying for them. The suspects allegedly fled the scene in a getaway car.

Oct. 5

Aggravated robbery. Vito’s Pizza, 5412 Monroe St., reported two suspects approached an employee as she was leaving the store with the day’s deposits of cash and checks amounting to $1,080.75. Both suspects pointed a pistol at the employee demanding the bag of cash.

Oct. 7

Theft. Claire Schmidt, 3800 block of Sulphur Spring Road, Ottawa Hills, reported someone stole from her car a purse, which contained credit cards, a wallet, and iPod. The items had a combined value of $600. The car was parked at Mercy Eye Clinic, 5085 Monroe St.

Sylvania Township Fire Department

Oct. 2

Intersection of King Road and Sylvania Avenue, assist police and other government agencies.

6000 block of Gillingham Drive, unauthorized burning.

4700 block of Crestridge Road, assist police and other government agencies.

Oct. 4

6400 block of River Crossings Drive, overheated motor.

5200 block of Burgess Drive, smoke scare, odor of smoke.

Oct. 5

5800 block of Marshall Road, explosion or overpressure rupture.

Oct. 6

2900 block of Heysler Drive, power line down.

4900 block of Wickford Drive, steam or other gas.
