Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 2/25

Here are the crime reports from Feb. 18 through Feb. 25 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Feb. 18

Assault. Beverly Robinson,ProMedica Flower Hospital 5200 Harroun Rd., reported that she was physically harmed while working at the hospital.

Feb. 20

Theft. Maisy Nicole Smith, 5200 block of Burgess Drive, reported someone created an online account using her identification.

Feb. 21

Theft. Laura Mitchell, 5000 block of Argonne Place, reported someone took a bottle of medication from her purse while she was shopping at Kroger, 6235 Monroe St.

Passing bad checks. Dave White, 6480 Monroe St., reported someone issued a check for $1,000 related to a checking account with insufficient funds.

Feb. 23

Assault. Kristi Dawn Neary, 5700 block of Cushman Road and Colton Wingate, 6000 block of Summit Street, reported someone assaulted them both. The incident occurred at 5800 block of Summit Street.

Sylvania Township Police

Feb. 20

Aggravated robbery. Marathon Gas Station, 5410 Alexis Rd., reported a man came into the gas station, demanding money, with his right hand in his pocket that looked as if he was pointing a gun at the cashier. Less than $200 was reported stolen.

Feb. 21

Theft. Kimberly Hockenheimer, 300 block of Broadway, reported her cell phone stolen from her purse while shopping at Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave. It was valued at $300.

Feb. 22

Theft. Chuck E. Cheese’s, 5077 Monroe St., reported someone ordered a birthday party meal, complete with goodie bags and pizza, and left the premise before paying the bill of $389.73.

Feb. 25

Theft. Unique Smith, 2900 block of Lawrence Avenue, reported her purse stolen. The incident occurred at Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave.

Theft. Lori Grant, 3200 block of Centennial Road, reported someone used her vehicle without her consent and then attempted to withdraw cash from her checking account. A total of $250 was withdrawn. The victim also reported the suspect attempted to cash checks from her bank account.

Sylvania Township Fire Department

Feb. 17

6300 block of Garden Road, Maumee, cover assignment, standby.

Feb. 19

Intersection of Dogwood Lane and Gilhouse Road, motor vehicle accident.

8100 block of Central Avenue, motor vehicle accident.

5400 block of Brixton Drive, gas leak.

U.S. 23 mile marker 233.6, motor vehicle and pedestrian accident.

6100 block of Monroe Street, motor vehicle accident.

Feb. 20

6000 block of Burrwood Drive, water or steam leak.

5300 block of Silvertown Drive, water problem.

Feb. 21

Intersection of Monroe Street and U.S. 23 northbound, emergency medical service.

Feb. 22

7400 block of Wicklow Woods Drive, emergency medical service.
