Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 3/5

Here are the crime reports from Feb. 25 through March 4 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Feb. 25

Assault. Kendra Jackson, 5100 block of Spring Street, reported someone caused her physical harm.

Feb. 26

Rape. A 19-year-old woman, 15000 block of Lakeview Drive, Manhattan, Ill., reported she was sexually assaulted. The incident occurred at 4800 block of Parkgate Place Boulevard.

Theft. O’Reilly Auto Parts, 5118 W. Alexis Rd., reported $455.05 in cash stolen.

Feb. 28

Theft. Gary Brown, 7400 block of Grenlock Drive, reported stolen an Ohio license plate, worth $54.

Aggravated burglary. Kathryn Helf, 4900 block of Brinthaven Drive, reported someone entered the residence and assaulted her.

March 1

Taking identity of another. Gaylord Antener, 4100 block of King Road, reported someone used his identity to purchase a cell phone and phone service worth $764.

March 3

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Denise Marie Guy, 4700 block of Charlesgate Road, reported someone used her car, valued at $12,500, without her consent.

Sylvania Township Police

Feb. 25

Burglary. Fran Wies, 3200 block of Centennial Road, reported various items missing from her home, including jewelry and $900.

Feb. 28

Theft. Kistler Ford, 5555 Central Ave., reported stolen eight car batteries, with a total value of $800.

March 1

Theft. Golf Galaxy, 5223 Monroe St., reported stolen a golf putter worth $350.

March 3

Theft. Clearview Windshield Repair, 1406 46th Lane, Coral Gables, Fla., reported stolen a windshield repair kit, worth $400. The incident occurred at Jim White Toyota, 6123 W. Central Ave.

March 4

Theft. Hana Aridi, 2300 block of Eversham Court, reported stolen credit cards, $60, a checkbook, and identification documents. She reported someone broke into a car parked in the drive, stole the garage door opener, and gained entry into the home.

Theft. Meijer, 7240 W. Central Ave., reported stolen two Dyson vacuums, with a combined value of $599.98.

Sylvania Township Fire Department

Feb. 26

Intersection of U.S. 23 southbound and Monroe Street, motor vehicle accident.

Feb. 27

Intersection of Monroe Street and Whiteford Road, gas leak.

March 1

6700 block of Bancroft Street, motor vehicle accident.

5900 block of Red Oak Drive, trash or rubbish fire.

6000 block of Stewart Road, gas leak.
