The keynote speaker at the Lourdes University’s May 17 ceremony for 460 graduates will be Brian Kennedy, director of the Toledo Museum of Art.

Mr. Kennedy and Ann Anderson Stranahan each will receive honorary doctoral degrees.

University president David Livingston will confer the degrees at the 1 p.m. event at the SeaGate Convention Centre, 401 Jefferson Ave. in downtown Toledo. Before that, at 10 a.m. a baccalaureate will be held in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel on Lourdes’ campus.

Mr. Kennedy has been president, director, and chief executive of the Toledo Museum of Art since 2010.

Ms. Stranahan is an active volunteer in northwest Ohio, where she has been involved with the art museum; the Needmor Fund, which supports community organizing nationwide; and with the Alliance for Paired Donation, which work to increase the pool of kidneys for transplants. She also is a writer and her family oversees the operation of a dude ranch, a cattle ranch, and a general store in northwest Colorado.
