Building fire battled in west Toledo
Fire crews were fighting a blaze Friday morning at an unoccupied apartment in a building near the intersection of Lewis and Sylvania avenues in West Toledo, authorities said.
There were no reported injuries, according to the Toledo fire department.
Firefighters arrived about 6:30 a.m. and saw flames coming from the second floor of a two-story wood frame building at 4203 Lewis Ave. They attacked the fire and had it under control within an hour, a fire dispatcher said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. The damage estimate was unavailable.
The Lucas County Auditor’s Web site lists Daniel Graham Jr. as the owner of the building, which is classified as commercial. It was built in 1897, according to county records.
