Sept. 1 initial hearing set for suspect in hit-skip

The Lucas County Coroner’s Office Monday said a Toledo man killed by a hit-skip driver while crossing a road in West Toledo early Saturday died of multiple blunt trauma, including a skull fracture with brain injuries.

Christopher Moles, 40, of 943 Gribben Lane, Apt. 1C, Toledo, was crossing West Laskey Road in the 700 block when he was hit. A motorist reported him lying in the street about 3 a.m. Saturday.

Kadie McCurdy, 27, of 1775 Stonybrook Lane, Temperance, was arraigned Monday in the Lucas County Municipal Court on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide. She was released after posting a $50,000 surety bond, according to court records. Records showed she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.182, more than twice the 0.08 limit. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 1.
