Ohioan arrested for phone threats

A Mansfield, Ohio, man who purchased pre-paid phone cards at a store in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, then used the cards to phone in bomb threats to courthouses in five states, was arrested Wednesday near Mansfield.

Lonny Lee Bristow, 39, was charged in U.S. District Court with willfully making a threat and maliciously conveying false information.

According to the FBI, Mr. Bristow purchased prepaid calling cards at the Wal-Mart Super Center in Upper Sandusky.

He then used them to phone in bomb threats that resulted in the evacuation of courthouses in Tennessee, Mississippi, Nebraska, Washington, and Oregon last November and December, federal agents said.
