Police ID city's latest homicide victim

BLADE STAFF

The man shot to death today has been identified by Toledo police as Antonio Watson, 30.

Mr. Watson was found shot -- apparently in his head -- at 6:40 a.m. at the Westland Gardens Apartments, 1640 Fielding Ave., off of Dorr Street.

A door to the apartment building was locked, forcing officers to break a window to get inside.

The victim was taken by LifeSquad to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said they have no suspects.

Mr. Watson's death is the third homicide in Toledo this week, the sixth in the city this year.

Quidare Buffaloe, 23, was shot and killed at Westland Garden Apartments on Aug. 28, 2011, while he was outside talking to a group of friends. No charges have been filed in that death.
