Mother arraigned on charges of shooting her 15-year-old son

SWANTON -- A mother who allegedly shot her 15-year-old son was arraigned today in Fulton County Eastern District Court.

Candis Jo Sherman, 57, of York Township is charged with a first-degree felony of attempted aggravated murder in the shooting of Logan Sherman, 15. Authorities said the teenager was shot in the arm and back area and is expected to recover. Police recovered a revolver at the Sherman residence after responding to the call Sunday morning.

Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive.

No bond was set today for Ms. Sherman. Court-appointed attorney Amber VanGunten, a Delta lawyer, was assigned to represent her and could not be reached for immediate comment.
