Bond set at $200,000 for Toledoan accused in shooting

A Toledo man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend was arraigned today.

Rashad Gaines, 21, of 907 Paxton St., is charged with two counts of felonious assault and was ordered to remain in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $200,000.

Steven Parks, 27, was shot in the back while he was in bed at his girlfriend's house in the 1100 block of Country Creek Lane on Saturday morning. After allegedly shooting Mr. Parks, the gunman paced back and forth saying he should have shot the woman.

After some pleading from the woman and victim, the gunman allowed them to go to the hospital.

The suspect was arrested Thursday evening.
