Toledo police seek tips in purse-snatching

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a purse-snatching from an elderly victim in the central city last month.

A 72-year-old woman had just left a carryout at Collingwood Boulevard and Dorr Street and was walking in a parking lot about 10:30 a.m. Aug. 30 when a man on a bicycle rode up from behind, grabbed her purse, and fled, according to police.

The suspect was described by police as a black man 17 to 21 years old, with short hair. He rode a yellow bicycle with whitewall tires. A bike matching that description was found in the 700 block of Pinewood Avenue, about 2½ blocks away.
