Driver ejected from vehicle after crash

SANDUSKY COUNTY — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that ejected a driver from a vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday on State Rt. 19.

Lori S. Clouse, 43, was driving a Chevrolet Blazer northbound just south of Limerick Road when the vehicle went off the east side of the roadway and struck a ditch culvert, a release from the police stated. The vehicle overturned and struck a utility pole, which is where it came to rest.

Mrs. Clouse, a resident of Clyde, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. She was transported to The University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, by Life Flight Helicopter. Her condition at the scene was serious.

Her condition was unknown shortly before 10:30 p.m., as a call placed to the medical center's media representative was not returned.
