Toledo police today have identified Antonio Mims as the man who was shot Thursday night in North Toledo.
Mr. Mims, 38, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.
The victim was shot about 9:20 p.m. in the 200 block of East Delaware Avenue near Lagrange Street, police said.
Sgt. Roy Kennedy said the victim told officers that he was walking down the street when he heard several gunshots and realized he was hit in the hip. He told investigators he did not know who had shot him, police said.
The man also told police that he saw three men running from the scene. Officers called in a canine unit to try to track any footprints in the snow , but no such tracks were found, Sgt. Kennedy said.
Police had no suspects.
