Annual raids in honor of Dressel net dozens of suspects, guns, and drugs


Annual raids in honor of slain Toledo police Detective Keith Dressel netted dozens of arrests, cash, guns, and plenty of drugs.

The drug raids all over the city started Thursday night and continued through Sunday.

During the sweep 44 search warrants were executed and 66 people were charged with 91 felonies and 71 misdemeanors.

Police confiscated 16 handguns and six long guns. Officers also seized 8 1/2 pounds of marijuana; 36 marijuana plants; 129 pills; 10 grams of heroin, and 52.2 grams of crack cocaine and cocaine.

Officers seized $18,744 in cash.

Detective Dressel was shot in the line of duty on Feb. 21, 2007, in the 1400 block of North Ontario Street.

Robert Jobe, who was 15 at the time, is serving 15 years to life in prison for the detective's death.
