Findlay man accused of robbing pharmacy

FINDLAY — A Findlay man who was accused of robbing a pharmacy in this Hancock County community Monday is in jail today after he was treated at a hospital for swallowing some pills before his arrest, authorities said.

Daniel Stone, 29, the suspect who was charged with theft and robbery, was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, according to Findlay police. Upon his release from the hospital today, he was booked into the Hancock County jail pending arraignment at a later date, sheriff deputies at the jail said.

About 7:35 p.m. Monday, police received a report of a robbery in progress at CVS Pharmacy, 463 Tiffin Ave., according to police. When police arrived, an alleged robber gave himself up and was identified as the suspect, police said.

Police said  the suspect had been fighting with his wife and told her he was going to rob a pharmacy to go back to jail. Once he got to the pharmacy, he allegedly told a pharmacist it was a robbery and then demanded and received "all their Oxycontin and Adderal," police said.

No weapon was seen and none was found.

Police said the suspect ingested an unknown quantity of the pills shortly before he was arrested.

Findlay, the seat of Hancock County, is about 45 miles south of Toledo.
