GREEN SPRINGS, Ohio — A Clyde, Ohio, woman was killed and two Fremont women were injured when a car and a minivan collided at an intersection Saturday morning near Green Springs, close to the Sandusky-Seneca county line, authorities said.

Judith Hansen, 69, who was driving the car, was flown to University of Toledo Medical College, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Fremont post.

Alyson Johnson, 25, the driver of the minivan, was taken with “incapacitating injuries” to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont, where her passenger, Talytha Elick, 20, was transported with a “serious injury” before being flown to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, according to the patrol.

Ms. Elick was listed in fair condition, and no information was available about the driver, a ProMedica spokesman said.

The crash occurred about 7:20 a.m. at State Rt. 19 and Sandusky County Road 181 in Sandusky County’s Green Creek Township, troopers said.

The car was heading west on Road 181 and the minivan was northbound on Route 19 when the car failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and drove into the path of the minivan, according to the post.

The vehicles then went off the northwest corner of the intersection, with the minivan overturning before coming to rest on its left side, troopers reported.

All of the vehicles’ occupants wore seat belts, according to the patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.

Green Springs is about 45 miles southeast of Toledo.
