ELMORE -- A 14-year-old girl was killed in a crash that occurred on State Rt. 105 in Harris Township just after 1 a.m. today.
Austin Limpf, 18, of Curtice, Ohio, was driving westbound on State Rt. 105 with an unidentified female passenger when, he told police, he fell asleep. When his car began to veer off the road to the right, Mr. Limpf over-corrected and ran off the left side of the road.
The vehicle overturned several times and the young female front-seat passenger was ejected from the car before it came to a stop, landing on its wheels.
The young girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Limpf was taken to Bay Park Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, then released.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. Officials report that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
