Bicyclist hurt in hit-skip crash in Montpelier


MONTPELIER, Ohio — A 50-year-old Williams County man was being treated Sunday for serious injuries after a hit-skip crash in which a motorist struck him while he was riding his bicycle in the dark.

Troy L. Presnell of Montpelier was bicycling eastbound along State Rt. 107 near State Rt. 15 when the crash occurred sometime between 1:10 a.m. and 1:26 a.m., the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Defiance post said.

The motorist left the scene.

Mr. Presnell was transported to Montpelier Hospital, then air lifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, the highway patrol said.
