A Toledo man was shot for the second time this year during a reported car theft attempt.
Police are investigating a shooting about 1:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Palmetto Avenue, near Ayers Avenue. Paul King suffered a gunshot wound to his left hand.
Mr. King said an unknown man entered the passenger side of his vehicle, brandished a handgun, and demanded he leave. Mr. King said he refused and was shot during a struggle, police said.
He was treated at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. A hospital spokesman said no information was available.
Mr. King was also shot during the early morning of Feb. 26. Police report responding to a speeding vehicle on Upton Avenue near ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Mr. King was inside and said he was shot in the stomach in the 1800 block of Brussels Street.
