A sustainability office will open today at One Government Center in downtown Toledo, authorities announced Monday.
The office, open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, will be staffed by Melissa Greene, the sustainability conservationist for the Lucas County Soil and Water Conservation District.
The new satellite office is to help officials take into account sustainability factors when they make their decisions to save money long-term, Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak said.
