A Sylvania Township public hearing to discuss a rezoning request for a 214-unit housing development at 8739 W. Central Ave. has been rescheduled for June 3, as part of a 4 p.m. township board of trustees meeting in the Sylvania Township Hall, 4927 Holland-Sylvania Rd.
Originally scheduled for May 7, the meeting was postponed at the request of applicant George Oravecz, principal of Oravecz and Associates in Toledo, who said he needed more time to get a traffic report from the Ohio Department of Transportation for the project. He expected to have it in hand by June.
Redwood Acquisitions of Cleveland, whom Mr. Oravecz is representing, has asked to rezone 40 acres of former farmland on West Central Avenue between Centennial and Herr roads from agricultural to residential multifamily. The developer proposes to build single-story apartments intended for residents ages 55 and older with rent of about $1,300 per month.
The Lakes at Central Reserve complex is expected to cost between $15 million and $20 million.
