Police say 6 teens shot in Columbus

None seriously injured in rash of weekend shootings

ASSOCIATED PRESS

COLUMBUS — Police in central Ohio say six teenagers were wounded by gunfire over the weekend.

Columbus police said the teens were shot in three unrelated incidents in the city. None was seriously injured.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that no arrests have been made. Detectives couldn't explain why the shootings occurred with a 3 ½-hour period late Saturday and early Sunday.

Police say a boy and a girl were shot at about 11 p.m. Saturday during a large fight that broke out at a community outreach center. Before that, a 16-year-old boy was shot while walking on a street.

Then two people, ages 15 and 17, were shot on a street early Sunday.

All were taken to hospitals.
