Storms, high winds have created hazardous conditions near Michigan-Ohio border

Regional storms and high winds have created hazardous conditions near the Michigan-Ohio border tonight, from a power outage in West Toledo to half-inch diameter hail in Monroe County.

FirstEnergy said the power outage occurred about 6:50 p.m., affecting 1,700 homes and businesses near Talmadge Road in West Toledo.

The National Weather Service put out a bulletin at 6 p.m. stating that a line of rapidly developing thunderstorms were occurring in southern Lenawee and Monroe counties, near Ohio.

The storms were along a line 10 miles southwest of Hudson, Mich. to 10 miles south of Blissfield to 10 miles southeast of Temperance.

Winds were reported at speeds greater than 30 mph, the agency said.
