Coroner: Dead son of Ohio woman killed when she ran into traffic showed no signs of trauma

ASSOCIATED PRESS

CANTON — Authorities say a 14-month-old boy found dead in a northeast Ohio apartment did not die from trauma and showed no signs of injury.

Omoyele Gonzalez was found dead in Canton in Stark County on Thursday, the same day his 20-year-old mother Kayelisa Martin was killed when she ran in front of a truck on Interstate 77 in Summit County.

A Monday statement from the Stark County coroner says a preliminary autopsy indicated no signs of trauma. Final autopsy results, including a full toxicology report, will take several weeks. A message was left Monday with Canton police.

The medical examiner’s office in Summit County says it’s waiting on more information from the ongoing investigation to rule on the manner of Martin’s death. Authorities are still investigating both deaths.
